Kindergarten
Our kindergarten program is designed to prepare our youngest students for their future in school. Social skills are practiced in light of God’s Word. While reading is taught using a phonics approach, children also learn to recognize the ‘sight-sounds’ of letters and use those skills to comprehend words, which is the basis of reading. A fully-integrated approach to teaching is used, and students are well-prepared for first grade by the end of their kindergarten training. Our program is a full-day one, which allows both the academic and developmental aspects of kindergarten to be emphasized throughout the school day, giving each child a well-rounded kindergarten experience. Some of the special features of our kindergarten program include: a ‘Getting to Know You’ teddy-bear tea before school begins, a pajama party, snow day, 6th grade ‘kinder-pals’ and more.

Elementary (1st through 6th Grades)
O
ur elementary program is an advanced, academic program with an emphasis on the fundamentals of learning. All subjects are taught using traditional methods such as phonics, memorization, penmanship, grammar and mathematics.

A
dditionally, students enjoy music, field trips, weekly chapel and intramural sports.  Students participate in ACSI-sponsored academic competitions such as Spelling Bees, Math Olympics, Speech Meets, Art Festivals and Piano Festivals. Sixth grade students enjoy a week-long science camp at Hume Lake with other Christian schools.

The elementary curriculum is integrated using the following publishers: A-Beka, Bob Jones, SRA, Houghton Mifflin, ACSI, Cherie Noel and several teacher-created materials.  Our school uses the State Standards as bench marks and seeks to excel in each area.

We also have a Latin curriculum as part of our program. This helps enhance the students vocabulary, grammar and foreign language ability.

1 Timothy 4:12

"Don't let anyone look down
on you because you are young,
but set an example for the
believers in speech,
in life, in love,
in faith and in purity."

Club 226

Coastal Christian is excited about Club 226, its after school homework and activity program. It gets its name from Proverbs 22:6, which says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not depart from it." Our Club 226 coordinator has a passion to make this program a fun and encouraging place for students to go after school where they can get assistance with homework, play fun games and have fun and fellowship with their school-mates! Please call the school office at 489-1213 to learn more.
