Secondary (7-12) Academics
"My daughter has just been in secondary at CCS for a month now, but we are already so impressed with the secondary department. Her teachers are exceptional: she loves every one of them, and I am impressed with what they are teaching her. Several of them have already come to tell me stories about her in class or at camp. I appreciate that personal, caring touch! Of course, we love that everything she is learning is coming from a sound Christian, Biblical perspective."

Junior High Program
Seventh and Eighth grade students take Bible, English, History, Math,
Science and Physical Education. Students may also choose from varying
electives such as computers, music, art, drama, and various competitive
sports.
High School Program
Our high school program is based on a college preparatory curriculum.
Students are prepared to meet the entrance requirements to all private
universities and the California State University system. CCS is in the process of getting University of California approval of our courses to the degree that UC does not require things in conflict with CCS core values. Check with the office if UC is a future goal. Coastal Christian School seeks to guide students with
college and career counseling based on their personal interests and
goals for the future.
Major Events and Trips
All secondary students participate in our annual Spiritual Emphasis
Camp, which takes place in the fall at Lopez Canyon Conference Center.
Students also attend a weekly chapel service that includes a worship
time and a speaker. Field trips, athletics, choir, student government
and other student activities are part of secondary life at CCS. Every
other year, our 8th and 9th grade students go on an educational trip
to Washington D.C., while a trip to Europe is available for our 11th
and 12th grade students on alternating years.
High Test Scores
Students at CCS scored significantly higher than the national average.
On average over the last 5 years, CCS scored on every subject better
than 75% of all the students in the nation. This means that half of
CCS students score between the 76th and 99th percentile – incredible!
The SAT Bible knowledge test is given to just Christian schools. On average, 90% of CCS students scored above average or advanced in Bible.
Coastal Christian School is proud of providing a top-notch academic education that is based on the truth of God's Word and accentuated with an emphasis on real and world-changing faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
