TEST RESULTS SHOWS HIGH ACHIEVEMENT

All students take the Stanford Achievement Test each spring. The test measures how well our students perform compared to a national sample of students at the same grade levels. A score of "50" means "grade level." But CCS consistently scores well above that. For all tests and subtests, CCS averages at the 77th percentile, that is, better than 77% of all students nation-wide in every subject and in all grades. The following charts show results for reading, math, and language arts over the last five years. Note that the longer students stay at CCS, they get higher scores -- look at the 12th grade over the last five years! Few schools (none in our area) can show results this high over all grades K-12 and consistently over time.

The Scholastic Aptitude Test (also know as the College Board Exam) is a voluntary test. Only the top students in other schools take the test giving the impression that their school is good for all students. But at CCS, all the students take the S.A.T. That would normally lower the school-wide average results, but CCS has among the highest school average scores in the county, more than enough to get into most four-year colleges.
